Dear all,
if I had told Wendy that a friend of mine had died, she would have found just the rights words to comfort me. She would always find the right words and generously share whatever it needed for a friend to feel better.
I´m sure at one point she would have said "To die at 55, that´s ridiculous!" and she would have spoken about all the things she wanted to do - weekend trips to Paris, play the piano, improve her German, cooking classes in Italy, do something with food....
Such a wonderful person passed away too young!!! It is injust, unbelievable and senseless.
It will take some time to really understand that she is not among us anymore and maybe it helps to think that her suffering has ended and she is in a better place.

Dear Julian,

Thank you so much for accompanying my cousin through much good times and the bad...right up until her last breath.
I know you brought her much joy, love, strength and peace. Outside of her being free from further pain and fatigue after such a valiant fight against the cancers, I hope you find relief too in knowing that your relationship was tinted more by happiness than the recent suffering.
Our Chan family always found solace in knowing that despite her being so far from her origins in Hong Kong, she was warmly embraced by you, your family and her wonderful life in Germany.
Though no longer physically at your side, I strongly believe the love remains.
You too deserve some peace and I hope you also afford yourself some kindness and rest as you digest the immense grief.
Time, the healer...You, your family, Uncle Paul and Auntie Christina are in our entire family's thoughts and prayers.

I fondly remember our meal together here in NYC (it will be 10 years next month!). I was delighted to meet you finally, the love of Wendy’s life. And how sweet she was to also bring me some healthy snacks, as she knew I often worked long hours... I was so touched by this loving gesture.
Nine years my senior, Wendy was like an elder sister in many ways. She always showed special care to all the younger cousins in our HUGE family and she was one of the first of our generation to study abroad.
Her father's sister (my mother), Josephine, alongside the rest of our family always admired Wendy's intelligence, drive and cheered her on. When she was among us, she shone bright and even in her passing she will continue to illuminate our hearts and memories.

My dear cousin Wendy, I hope you've returned to the source smoothly. Thank you for touching my life and heart in this one and may we share a family bond and laughs again in the next 💖

Your loving (biu-mui) cousin,
Jeanny
